How to save the soaking of reinforced flooring

Apart from the dust flying around the house caused by the need to raise the floor to repair the water pipes, those good floors have also become invalid and need to be re purchased due to soaking in water. Wait, the floor's soaked and there's still a chance to save it! So what should we do?

This is a very common small thing in life - busy hands and feet, accidentally overturning the water basin. When encountering such a situation, calm down and don't have to pry up the floor to dry. That can easily cause hard damage to the floor and may result in serious consequences that cannot be restored for use!

Remove the skirting line from the floor, expose the expansion joint, and use the expansion joint to dissipate the water vapor. Depending on the amount of water seepage, it usually takes about three to ten days to dry.

The soaking time did not exceed 12 hours

I have also encountered such cases before: water leakage at home, people not at home, unable to solve the problem in a timely manner, only to find a mess when I returned home.

At this point, estimate the soaking time first. If it does not exceed 12 hours, you can first move the furniture on the floor, try not to step on it, and quickly drain the surface water of the floor. For example, use a dry cloth to wipe all the water stains on the surface of the reinforced composite floor. Absorb the surface water on the reinforced floor in the shortest possible time.

At the same time, use a vacuum cleaner to absorb water vapor from the joint gaps of the water soaked reinforced floor, or use a hair dryer to dry with cold air, but never use hot air to prevent the surface from cracking and deformation due to heat drying.

Then, it is necessary to quickly remove the skirting line of the reinforced composite floor, expose the expansion joint, and use the expansion joint to dissipate the water vapor. It usually takes about a week to dry, and products that have not been soaked for a long time can recover on their own.

Large area soaking in water

Of course, before the installation personnel arrive, you should carefully pry up the wooden floor while keeping it intact. Place it in a well shaped stack in a ventilated area and use the weight generated by its stacking to prevent deformation. Be careful not to expose it to the sun. Generally, high-quality reinforced floors can be reused.

Small area soaking for too long time

If the soaking time exceeds 12 hours and the floor has become warped and deformed, it is recommended to replace it.

It is not recommended to flatten the arched part and repaint it, as repainting the arched part after planing will cause disharmony with other board colors, and the thickness of the entire board will be uneven, resulting in different stress levels and prone to dents.
